Dapper Dad Meets Soda Pop Tops

Good morning friends and welcome to the end of another work week, yeah!!!!  Today I wanted to share a father's day card I made that uses the Dapper Dad stamp set from the Spring catalog.  This stamp set is so fun and is great for those masculine cards.  I stamped the watch image with Soft Suede ink and then colored in the watch band with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.  Then I used my Big Shot and the Apothecary Framelits to cut out the stamped image and sponged around the edges with Cajun Craze ink.

I love the Soda Pop Tops at are also in the Spring catalog and I used my Big Shot to flatten it (I like them better flat).  I stamped the watch image again with Note Quite Navy ink and punched it out with the 1" circle punch before adhering it to the pop top and covering it with crystal effects.  Now I have to admit the ink ran a little when the crystal effects was drying and while it looks great with the DSP I used I did learn a trick that if you emboss over the image you're going to cover with crystal effects with clear embossing folder it will seal the ink and it won't change colors when you add the crystal effects, so cool!

The designer series paper I used for this card is from the Parker's Prints DSP, I love these patterns, and I parred it with the Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon.  The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and I cut flag tails on the side to mimic the ribbon and DSP tails.  This card is so fun and full of texture, I love it!

It's never too early to begin working on gift for the special men in your lives and this card could easily be changed to a birthday card, retirement, etc.

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend!
