SSINKspiration Feel Better: Itty Bitty Greetings

Good morning!  We had a wonderful weekend and full of family fun, and I was able to get some extra crafting time in the studio which was much needed.  With the arrival of fall it's not unusual to feel a little under the weather so today the SSINKspiration team is sharing card to help someone feel better (these cards are great to have on hand and ready to go since you never know when the need will arise).

I started with Soft Sea Foam cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Wood Texture Designer Series Paper as well as a strip of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper that was matted with Melon Mambo cardstock.

Next I used the Big Shot and the Nature's Roots Framelits and Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies to make the flowers and leaves, and pearls were added to the center of the flower to dress it up.

The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits before attaching it with dimensionals.  The final touch was a bow tied with 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.

This is a nice and cheery card that is guaranteed to brighten someone's day when they're under the weather.

SSINKspiration Get Well Soon: Heartfelt Blooms

Good morning!  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing get well soon cards.  I'll admit this isn't a type of card I sent all that often but I wanted to make something bright and cheery since if I was sick I know that would definitely help me feel better.  Also, there are only 3 weeks left in Sale-a-bration so I managed to use 3 different SAB freebie items in this card, crazy how I did that!

I started with Flirty Flamingo cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black as a mat for the Springtime Foils Speciality Designer Series Paper (this was part of the second release SAB items and it is truly stunning, don't miss out on it).

I used the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set (a SAB freebie!) and that realistic flower stamp is so gorgeous just in Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock.  I used Flirty Flamingo to mat the flower layer and attached it offset for a little fun.

The saying is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Basic Black in on Flirty Flamingo cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits.  I used the same framelits to cut the scalloped oval mat out of Basic Black cardstock before attaching it with dimensionals.  The final touches?  I silver heart from the Metallics Enamel Shapes Pack and a bow tied in Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon from the 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon Pack (also a SAB freebie!)

This is a simple card but the little extra foil and shimmer helps elevate the card and really will make someone feel extra special.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for more possibilities.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge: Sheltering Tree

Good morning!  My Grandma had surgery last week and thankful she’s doing great but we wanted to send here a Get Well card to let her know we were thinking of her.  I was a little stumped for ideas so I decided to use this weeks Fab Friday Sketch challenge as the inspiration of this card (love when things work out like that!!)

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper (retiring).  For the main stamped image I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the tree using the Sheltering Tree stamp set (love how you can build scenes with this set).  The greeting is from the And Many More Stamp set (retiring and on sale right now, whoo hoo!)  This piece was matted with Basic Black cardstock before adding a Paper Doily (also retiring) along the bottom.  Before attaching the stamped layer to the cardfront I added a strip of coordinating DSP (it’s actually the reverse side pattern from the cardfront) along with a piece of Early Espresso ¼” Cotton Ribbon.  I thought the card needed a little something more for dimension so I tied a bow using Pacific Point 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon and attached it to the cardfront with a glue dot.

Really hoping my grandma likes this card, but knowing her I think it’ll be a hit and help her to a quickly recovery.  Once again there are lots of retiring products used on this card so make sure to stock up if any of these items are on your wish list.

Sketch Frenzy Friday Card Sketch Challenge: Creative Elements

Good morning.  I'm so excited that today is the start of the Memorial Day weekend (just a few more hours of work to go).  Of course I need to leave you a little creative inspiration to start the holiday weekend.  Today I'm sharing the card I made for the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge and Robin really gave us a fun sketch for inspiration.  I started with Smoky Slate Cardstock for the cardbase and added panels of designer series paper from the Eastern Elegance DSP package (retiring) that I matted with Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

 

For the main stamped image I used the Creative Elements stamp set (that's retiring and stamped the flower in Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and the Squares Collection Framelits.  I made the mat with the same framelits and Smoky Slate cardstock.  The greeting is from the Express Yourself Hostess set (also retiring) and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch.  I used a sponge and Coastal Cabana ink to sponge around the edge and added pearls for a sparkly touch.  I did use dimensionals on both the flower panel and greeting so they pop up.

I love the soft colors on this card and I decided to make this a get well card but you could also make it for birthday, thank you, etc. just by changing out the greeting.  We would love for you to come play along with our sketch challenge, you have a little extra time this weekend so help you get some time to craft.
