SSINKspiration Get Well Soon: Heartfelt Blooms

Good morning!  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing get well soon cards.  I'll admit this isn't a type of card I sent all that often but I wanted to make something bright and cheery since if I was sick I know that would definitely help me feel better.  Also, there are only 3 weeks left in Sale-a-bration so I managed to use 3 different SAB freebie items in this card, crazy how I did that!

I started with Flirty Flamingo cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black as a mat for the Springtime Foils Speciality Designer Series Paper (this was part of the second release SAB items and it is truly stunning, don't miss out on it).

I used the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set (a SAB freebie!) and that realistic flower stamp is so gorgeous just in Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock.  I used Flirty Flamingo to mat the flower layer and attached it offset for a little fun.

The saying is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Basic Black in on Flirty Flamingo cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits.  I used the same framelits to cut the scalloped oval mat out of Basic Black cardstock before attaching it with dimensionals.  The final touches?  I silver heart from the Metallics Enamel Shapes Pack and a bow tied in Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon from the 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon Pack (also a SAB freebie!)

This is a simple card but the little extra foil and shimmer helps elevate the card and really will make someone feel extra special.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for more possibilities.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge: Heartfelt Blooms

Good morning!  I don't know about you but I'm always in the need of thank you notes, I really do try to write and send them regularly to let friends know I appreciate what you do.  For today's card I used the  Fab Friday Sketch challenge as inspiration for this eclectic thank you I recently sent a friend.

I started with Peekaboo Peach cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Island Indigo cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Garden Trellis Embossing folder for the cardfront.  To that I added a strip of the Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper (I love that there is such a variety of patterns in this pack, definitely something for everyone) and then added a piece of Gold Foil Paper along the side (yes gotta have the bling!)

For the main stamped image I cut an oval out of Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and then used the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set (FREE during Sale-a-bration) and stamped it in Sweet Sugarplum ink lightly on the two edges.  Then I stamped the greeting (from the same set) using Berry Burst ink.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting to the cardfront and the final touch was to add a bow tied using Berry Burst 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon for a soft feel.

I love the contrasts of the geometric design in the back with the feminine flower from the stamp for just the perfect balance and fun.  And since my friend loves bling as much as I do I know she'll appreciate the gold foil accent.  The great thing about this card is that it's really easy to pull together but looks dressed up to impress.

Sale-a-Bration Kick Off Blog Hop: Heartfelt Blooms

Good evening!  I have a special post for you tonight.  It's very exciting times, with the new year comes the release of the Occasions Catalog as well as the start of Sale-a-bration, which kicks of tomorrow.  To help give you a peak at all the upcoming fun tonight we have a blog hop showing off ideas using all the great SAB rewards that you can earn for FREE with qualifying orders.

Today's card uses three different items, that will have to be on your wish list, the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set which is a new Patent Pending stamp called Disinktive stamps that lay down ink at different opacities to give more depth to a project and a more photographic feel.  I also used ribbon from the Shimmer Ribbon Pack (this is fun since you get three different colors and widths of ribbon, all with shimmer).  And finally I used the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper, this paper coordinates with the Bubble Over stamp set and coordinating framelits but it also has some neutral prints that can be use for anything.

I'm not going to give all the details into the card since it's pretty straight forward but I will say I used Momento Black Ink to stamp the flower and I just love the photographic look to the image.  It works great just stamped or you could also color it in using the new Stampin' Blends Markers.
