SSINKspiration Punch Art: Snow is Glistening

Good morning!  So excited for the arrival of this weekend as I have lots of holiday fun planned.  Today the SSINKspiration team is sharing projects using punch art.  Now I  know we've discussed this before and while there are some amazing punch art creators I do not seem to have that gift so I was a little stumped on today's topic and then decided to think simple, let some beautiful paper be the showcase and create a "tree" out of punched circles and die cut snowflakes.  I also thought this would be a great way to provide one last showcase for the Catch a Snowflake promotion items as today is the last day you can order them (and trust me you will want these items in your crafting toolbox for sure!)

For this card I used Gray Granite cardstock for the cardbase and then used Shaded Spruce as a mat for the Gray Granite cardfront.  On the cardfront I used the Snow is Glistening stamp set to stamp the dots all over the background.  Then I used the Joyous Noel Speciality Designer Series Paper and coordinating Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper to punch and cut the snowflakes (the Snowfall Thinlits were used for the snowflakes).  I did also use some of the White Velveteen Paper for the bottom left snowflake, now I know some of this paper has sold out but you can use this same idea with any of our fabulous papers for a great look.

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting in Merry Merlot ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and then lightly sponged around the edges with Bright Copper Shimmer Paper before attaching it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

This is a unique looking tree I'll say but all the glitter and copper accents make it really pretty so I'm happy with it.  This is also a great way to use up scraps of paper you may have, I always hate to throw things away but you can't always keep every little piece around the house.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge 303: Snow is Glistening

Good morning!  I think we can safely say the holidays have arrived (I've already started my Black Friday shopping, love online ordering, haha!) so it's perfect fitting for this weeks inspiration challenge over on the
Hand Stamped Sentiments blog.  I love this inspiration challenge as there are lots of colors and images that you can pick from, of course I decided to go with snow and use the products from the Catch a Snowflake Promotion (we only have a week and a half to purchase these items).

I started with Balmy Blue cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  On the cardfront I spritzed it with water and then added some blue Brusho Crystal Color and then spritzed again until I got the color saturation I was looking for.  Once the cardstock was dry I used the Snow is Glistening stamp set and stamped the smallest snowflakes around the edges of the brusho using Balmy Blue ink.

Next I used the Snowfall Thinlits and the Big Shot to cut some snowflakes out of Silver Glimmer Paper and used Vellum Cardstock for the large swirly die (a little hard to see in the picture).

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on Balmy Blue cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting and then added a few rhinestones on the bottom for a final frosty bling.

This card is perfect to get you in the holiday spirit (if your not already) and come on glitter and rhinestones, it's my version of perfection!  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along with us and share your creation.

Quick and Easy Snowflake Greetings: Snow is Glistening

Good afternoon,

I’m back and playing with the fun products in the Catch a Snowflake promotion this month but stuck with yesterday’s theme of non-traditional Holiday colors and this time went with purples.  I love the new purples that were added to our color collection and knew they would work well with the snowflake madness that is continuing.  I also wanted to make a quick and easy card so I limited myself to only 10 minutes to make this card, perfect for when you need to make multiples.

For this card I started with Highland Heather cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  I used the Snow is Glistening stamp set and stamped the snow falling from the top of the card using Highland Heather Ink and the greeting is Gorgeous Grape.  Next I took the cardfront and misted with Champagne shimmer mist (created by adding rubbing alcohol and shimmer paint in a spritzer) for an overall sparkle.

Next I wrapped a piece of Silver 3/8” Metallic Edge Ribbon on the top corner and then added one of the new Snowflake Trinkets with a Glue Dot.  To finish off the card I used the Big Shot and Snowfall Thinlits dies to cut some snowflakes out of the White Velveteen Sheets and then lightly sponged them with Gorgeous Grape ink (I used glue only on the center of the snowflakes so there was more movement on the tips of the snowflake).

The mix of white, purple, and silver proves a clean, elegant look and I love how easy it was to color the snowflakes (and they’re super soft to the touch).  If you’re just starting your holiday projects make sure to add the products in the Catch a Snowflake promotion to your stash so you’re all set.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge 302: Snow is Glistening

Good morning!  I'm playing along with another color challenge today, this time the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge and I have to say, I may have picked the wrong week to showcase and mainly holiday themed stamp set, as these colors are definitely not screaming Christmas but I decided to work with it and see what I could come up with (that's how you grow right?)

For this card I started with Sahara Sand cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Joyous Noel Speciality Designer Series Paper and matted with Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (the Copper piece which mimics the Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry colors from the color sketch).

For the main image I stamped the large snowflake tree from the Snow is Glistening stamp set in Versamark ink on Whisper White cardstock and then heat embossed it with the Heat Tool and Whisper White Embossing Powder.  Next I took sponge daubers and layered the Merry Merlot, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry colors on the tree (kind of reminds me of lights on the Christmas tree) and then trimmed it down.  To top off the tree I cut a small bow using the same glimmer paper and the Big Shot and Alpine Thinlits dies.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Merry Merlot ink on Sahara Sand cardstock, punched it out with the 1" Circle Punch and then sponged around the edge with Pumpkin Pie ink and attached it with a dimensional.

I know it was a stretch using these colors for a holiday card but I have to say, in the end I really like how it turned out, nice rich colors.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using these colors and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
