SSINKspiration Gratitude: All Things Thanks

Good afternoon!  Sending holiday cards are on a lot of peoples list to do but how many of you send holiday themed thank you's?  This time of year is huge for gift giving and receiving so it's only fitting that you also have holiday themed thank you notes ready to go to share your appreciation.  Today the
SSINKspiration team is sharing gratitude cards so of course I decided to share one of my holiday themed cards I will being sending out this year.

I started with Very Vanilla Think cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock as a mat for the Very Vanilla cardfront (which was stamped with the Sheet Music stamp set and Mossy Meadow ink and then sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink).  Then I added a piece of designer series paper from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper pack.

For the greeting I used the All Things Thanks stamp set and stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Before attaching the greeting to the cardfront with dimensionals I added a piece of 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim (love the texture of this!) so it peaks out from the circle.

This card screams holidays and perfect for letting someone know you appreciate their thoughtfulness.  The great thing about handmaking your cards (on top of adding that extra special touch) is that you can use the same design and elements and just change the greeting for a perfectly coordinated look.

SSINKspiration Color Sketch #SSINKCC53: All Things Thanks

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you are enjoying the holiday with family and friends as we officially say farewell to summer (how is that possible?)  Today the SSINKspiration team has a fun new color challenge and this is a great combo.  I'm also having some fun mixing in a few sneak peak items from the upcoming Holiday catalog, which will be released on Wednesday (whoo hoo!)

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock as a mat for the cardfront.  The cardfront is Bermuda Bay cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Next I added a belly band using Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper stack that was matted with Pineapple Punch cardstock.

For the stamped image I used the All Things Thanks stamp set (one of my classic favorites!) and stamped in Poppy Parade ink on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits (I also sponged around the edges of the circle with Bermuda Bay ink).  I cut a black circle out of using the 2" Circle Punch and then used the same framelits set to cut a circle out of Pineapple Punch cardstock.

To dress up the card I cut a circle out of the new Galvanized Metallic Sheets (holiday catalog) using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and then embossed it with the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder (this folder is awesome and you'll want to make sure to add it to your first order).  To help distress it I rubbed some Basic Black ink on the embossing and then wiped it clean with the paper towel.  I used dimensionals to attach the greeting circle to the cardfront and then added a double bow tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine as the final touch.

These colors give me a retro feel and I think the addition of the tin tile accent helps with that retro feel on the card, in a fun way.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing and we would love for you to play along and share what you create using these colors.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 27

Good morning!  The holiday weekend is officially over and it's back to the work and school routine, boy did that go by fast.  We're on our last week of this years gratitude challenge and I've really enjoyed sharing all these fun projects with you and I know I really appreciate having some cards ready to go when the need arises (I've already used several of them!)  Today's gratitude card is another Christmas theme and since it's Cyber Monday I thought it would be fun to use this fun little elf image since many of us will be playing Santa's helper elves today with a little online shopping.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Be Merry Designer Series Paper and matted it with Basic Black cardstock before wrapping a piece of Old Olive 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon around the center.

The main stamped image is from the Festive Phrases stamp set and after stamping it using Momento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock I used the new Stampin' Blends to color in the image (these new markers are great for coloring, you will love how smooth they are!)  I used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the oval and I really love the little extra the stitching provides on the piece.

The greeting is from the All Things Thanks stamp set and I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker to just color in the part of the greeting I needed before stamping on Crumb Cake cardstock and attaching it to the oval with dimensionals.  I also used dimensionals to attach the oval piece to the cardfront to finish off the card.

Isn't this little elf cute?  And this is fun because there isn't a lot of coloring on the card, just a hint so it's easy to due during this busy time of year.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 24 (SSINKspiration Merry Little Labels)

Good afternoon!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We enjoyed a wonderful day with friends and then we headed out for some fun holiday shopping in the middle of the night to officially ring in the start of the holiday season which is always a tradition.  Since today we're full on embracing the holidays for today's gratitude card I decided to make a fun card that looks like a pretty holiday package which is also using the Merry Little Labels stamp set which that SSINKspiration blog designers are showcasing today.

I used Real Red cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper to look like the wrapping paper.  I wrapped a piece of Emerald Envy 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the DSP and tied a big bow.

The greeting is from the Merry Little Labels stamp set and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp before stamping on Whisper White cardstock and then punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch.  I used the All Things Thanks stamp set for the "thank you"  and again inked the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers to just get the words I needed and stamped on Real Red cardstock before using dimensionals to pop up both the red piece and the whole greeting to finish off the package.

This bold patterned paper and ribbon is perfect for Christmas greetings and definitely helps get me in the holiday spirit.
