30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 1 (Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge)

Good morning and Happy November!  The arrival of November means it's time for my annual 30 Day Gratitude challenge so for the next 30 days I'll be sharing a different gratitude card covering all sorts of themes.  One thing I've noticed is that I've done this challenge for several years and my stock of thank you cards is growing rapidly so this year I'm going to be focusing on actually mailing out more of these cards to help spread the love!  For today's card I decided to used this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge as the inspiration and since I was wrapping up Halloween projects recently I had the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set out and think this little scarecrow is oh so cute so I decided to go with a fall theme.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Soft Suede cardstock for the cardfront.  To the cardfront I started with the Goulish Grunge stamp set and stamped the brickwall image a couple of times using Soft Suede ink.  I had my Paper Pumpkin stamps out and this splatter stamp was in the very first kit in the program so I used that to add a couple of splatters in Rich Razzleberry ink.  Next I took my Gold Wink of Stella pen and added some gold splatter to the cardfront (hard to tell from the picture but it's nice and subtle in real life).

Next I added a strip of designer series paper from the Petals and Paisleys Speciality Designer Series Paper along the left side and punched a circle out of another pattern using the 2" Circle Punch.  The scarecrow was stamped using Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then colored in using Stampin' Write Markers using the colors from the DSP and then attached him to the cardfront with dimensionals.

The final touch was to add the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set using Early Espresso ink.

I love the unique color combos used in the DSP, they are soft and fresh and while I wouldn't have thought to combine them they definitely work well together.  I also love how the Goulish Grunge stamp set is so versatile and can be used for lots of other things than just Halloween (keeping my fingers crossed this stamp set carries over to next year!!)  This is also a nice flat mailable card which is always good for mailing out quick greetings.
