Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch Challenge #SSINKCS19: Grundgy Birthday Greetings

Good morning and Happy Monday!  After last weeks snow storm it was so refreshing to see the sun come out and warm up so we could actually enjoy some time outside.  I definitely was channeling this great weather for this months  Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog sketch challenge.  Aidan had a friends birthday party so I needed something quick, easy, and perfect for a "little dude" and this sketch was perfect.

I started with Crushed Curry and then added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was matted with Garden Green cardstock.  On the Whisper White layer I stamped one of the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge in Crushed Curry ink.  I also stamped the birthday greeting in Night of Navy using the Sassy Salutations stamp set.

Next I added lots of fun layer elements, a piece of Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper is along the right hand side.  I stamped a little "washi" piece using the Tape It stamp set and Garden Green ink.

For the final touch I took a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and used the Big Shot and the star border framelit from the Mini Treat Bag Framelit set (this set is AWESOME) and I layered a piece of Gold Foil behind the star strip so there's just the right amount of bling.

This layout is so fun and really lends itself to adding lots of little touches without overwhelming the card.  Plus, I was able to add elements that were fun but still kept a masculine feel to the card.  There are some fabulous cards the other design team members are sharing for inspiration so make sure to check them out and then we would love for you to come play along with us.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge: Perfect Blend Meets Paper Pumpkin

Good morning!  We’re in our first “official” heat wave of the summer which is perfect since it really helps get me in the mood for swimming, ice cream, picnics, and all the other classic summer fun.    Today I’m sharing a card I made for this weeks Fab Friday sketch challenge and if full of lots of fun colors that really make me think of summer.  I started with a Crumb Cake Cardbase and added a piece of Calypso Coral DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Pack for a fun background.  The greeting is from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit (I love the exclusive stamps that come in these kits that can be used for all sorts of projects after the kit projects are completed).  The Whisper White stamped layer is matted with Basic Black and Old Olive Cardstock and I used the Tape It stamp to create a washi tape look using the colors in my card.

I decided to change things up on this sketch and instead of having a fewer small objects long the side I added one of the coffee cups from the Perfect Blend stamp set.  I stamped the cup several items on Whisper White and Crumb Cake cardstock with the new Memento ink so I could use the Old Olive Blendability Markers to color in the cup (stay tuned for more information on these fun tools that are coming soon).  I used Paper Snips to cut out the cup, lid, and collar to piece it together and used dimensionals for the lid so it has more dimension.

This sketch was a lot of fun and you can really take it in lots of different directions, depending on the stamps, and or punches you may decide to use (I know I’ll be playing with layouts with similar elements in the future).  If you haven’t given the Paper Pumpkin program a try I highly encourage you to it’s so fun to get predesigned projects delivered to your door each month for easy crafting.  Plus, now you can order prepaid subscriptions that you can keep for yourself or give as gifts and not only will you save off the subscription prices for the 6 and 12 month options but you can add these products to workshops or catalog orders so you can earn hostess benefits with this purchase (which is awesome!)  I’m going to buying one of these for my own personal Paper Pumpkin membership so ask me if you have any questions and I can get you started for next month.  Also, if you want a sneak peak at some of the Paper Pumpkin products at this Sunday’s Just Cards Class, June 22, attendees will be making projects using Paper Pumpkin kit elements that you are sure to love so RSVP soon to reserve your spot.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge: Perfect Pennants a Mixture of Old and New

Good morning!  Unfortunately our holiday vacation has come to an end and today we're heading back to school and work (cue sad music).  We had a wonderful time and always hate for our vacations to end.  With our crazy, travel filled vacation I haven't had much crafting time over the past week and a half so I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio for some quality time.

I did have a few moments and I whipped up with fun and fresh card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  This card is a mix of fun items from the current catalog as well as a sneak peak of a fun new stamp set from the Occasions Catalog that is being released tomorrow (so exciting!)  For this card I decided to go with a square card and the cardbase is Strawberry Slush and then I added a layer of  Soft Suede that was embossed with the Big Shot and the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  The designer series paper is from the Festive Prints DSP package and is in the Holiday catalog so today is the last day to order (love how you can use this paper for non-holiday projects) and is matted on a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock.  The ribbon is Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon.

For the main stamped image first I stamped the swirl images from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and the greeting is from the new Perfect Pennants stamp set and was stamped in Strawberry Slush Classic Ink.  I matted this layer on Strawberry Slush cardstock before attaching it to the card.  For the final decorative elements I added a Pistachio Pudding In Color Boutique Details and used the Tape It stamp set to make the Washi Tape element (it was stamped on Crumb Cake ink with Soft Suede ink before being cut out with Paper Snips).  I attached this element with dimensionals and added a couple of small pearls for the final touch.

I so love mixing the old and new items in this card and am glad I have these products in my stamp studio so I can continue to use them, if you don't have anything from the Holiday Catalog that you love don't miss out and place your order today so you'll have everything you need for your upcoming projects.

Good luck today!
