Fab Friday Color Challenge 148: Spooky Sweets

Good afternoon! 

There's a week to go until Halloween and I'm working on wrapping up a few last minute cards and gifts in order to get them in the mail on time.  I was so excited to see this weeks Fab Friday color challenge which is perfect for Halloween to I didn't make a huge stretch in making this card and since I had the Spooky Sweets stamp set out on my desk it came into use.

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  Next I used the spooky cloud stamp and stamped randomly in Smoky Slate ink before adding a strip of Gorgeous Grape DSP from the Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper.  Along the bottom of the DSP I added a piece of the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape.







For the main image I used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out a circle using Pumpkin Pie cardstock before stamping the greeting in Basic Black and sponging around the edge with Basic Black ink.  Next I stamped the bats using Basic Black ink and used the Spooky Bats Punch to punch them out and then used Mini Dimensionals to attach the bats to the cardfront.

The final touch was to add some purple glitter enamel dots from the Glitter Enamel Dots. 

A quick and easy card that isn't too scary for even our little ghosts and goblins (and come on glitter really does make everything better, haha!!)

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge 300: Spooky Sweets

Good morning!  Now that it's October people are fully embracing the Holiday season, it's fun seeing all the lights and decorations that are going up in my neighborhood (trust me my neighborhood takes Halloween seriously which is lots of fun!).  Today the Hand Stamped Sentiments team has a fun, seasonal inspiration challenge that is perfect for all the Halloween fun in today's card.

For today's card I used Whisper White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.  Then I added a layer of Basic Back cardstock before adding the card front which is also Whisper White but I sponged around it's edges with Cajun Craze ink.

On the cardfront I stamped using the Spooky Sweets stamp set and used Pumpkin Pie ink for the greeting and Smoky Slate for the background.




The circle was cut out of Mango Melody cardstock using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes framelits and then sponged around the edges with Cajun Craze ink and a piece of Black 5/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon is peaking out from the circles edge.  The bats are a stamp also and they perfectly coordinate with the Spooky Bats Punch (not this punch also punches out the bat images in the Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper).  I used mini dimensionals to attach the bats so they look like they're flying through the night sky.
