Fab Friday Sketch Challenge #FabFri151: Dashing Deer

Good morning!  I love a little sparkle to add to projects (no secret there!) but especially on holiday projects a little shine and sparkle are the perfect touch.  I decided to let gold foil be the focus on my card using this weeks Fab Friday sketch challenge while designing this card that we will be making at Sunday's Just Cards class.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Dashing Along Designer Series Paper as the card front (these patterns and colors are perfect for the holidays and I'm so glad this paper is back and available for all your holiday needs).

I used Whisper White cardstock for the focus panel and stamped the greeting from the Dashing Deer stamp set in Early Espresso ink and then added two strips of washi tape along the bottom using the Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape (this tape is great because it's got metallic in 3 of the 5 patterns using three different colors of metallic, plus this washi tape is currently on sale as part of the closeout sale so it's only available while supplies last).  For the main focus piece I used Gold Foil Paper, the Big Shot, and the Detailed Deer Thinlits to cut this beautiful foil deer.  I wanted this card to have a little dimension so I used dimensionals to attach the entire Whisper White piece on the cardfront.

This card is so beautiful and it really easy to make so it's great for multiples, which is perfect during the holiday season!

Dashing Along to a Cookie Cutter Christmas!

Good afternoon.  I'm continuing in my efforts to help force some cooler weather on us by working on some Christmas items.  Today I'm sharing another card that features my Product of the Week, the Subtle Dynamic Embossing folder, honestly I could use this folder on EVERYTHING, as well as the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper that can be earned for FREE on qualifying party and individual orders this month.

For this card I used Whisper White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added a Cherry Cobbler cardfront that was embossed with the Big Shot and Subtle Dynamic Embossing folder.  I added a strip of the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper to the center (this may be my favorite patterns of this package, classic Christmas!)

I used the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and stamped the greeting on Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso ink and attached it to the bottom corner of the card.  I also stamped the reindeer using the same ink and paper and cut it out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (the bow is Cherry Cobbler and was stamped with the same color ink).  I used the Bronze Stampin' Blends to color in the antlers and inside ears of this little lady.  I used Mini Dimensionals to attach the bow to the reindeer and then attached the reindeer with dimensionals to an oval cut out of Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The final touch was to add a little bling with some Rhinestones!

I love the images in this stamp set, they are cute and just make me smile!  This card is also meets the flat, mailable need of the post office and it's great if your making multiples to send during the holidays.  Don't forget to order the Subtle Embossing Folder by this Sunday to take advantage of my special of the week (I understand the folder is currently on back order but you can still order and get in the que for when more supplies arrive.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge 145: Timeless Tidings

Good morning!  Sadly our holiday has come to an end and while we've said goodbye to summer we still have the crazy heat so I decided to help cool things down with a Christmas card which not only has a couple more sneak peaks from the 2018 Holiday (officially released tomorrow) as well as sharing the new Dashing Along Designer Series Paper that's only available this month for qualifying orders (for FREE!).  I decided to use the Fab Friday sketch challenge to pull all these things together.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper as the cardfront (this is a nice monochromatic pattern that adds a little bit of elegance).  Next I took a piece of Garden Green cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder (my featured Product of the week) and then used a sponge dauber to add Garden Green ink to add emphasis to the embossing and add more dimension.

For the main stamped image I used the new Timeless Tidings stamp set (this stamp set coordinates with a beautiful card kit but has some beautiful fonts and messages that can be used on their own).  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the greeting and then stamped on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I added a small tag using Crumb Cake cardstock to help anchor the greeting and then added a bow tied out of Garden Green and White Baker's Twine (also coming in the Holiday catalog).

I wanted to add a little pop to the card so I used the poinsettia image from the stamp set and stamped it using Momento Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock and then colored in in with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends.  I used Paper Snips to cut out the flower and then attached it to the card with dimensionals (stacked two for a little extra height) and then lightly curled up the edges.  The center of the poinsettia needed something extra so I took some of the new Bright Copper Shimmer Paint (yes shimmer paint is back, whoo hoo!) and added a little bit in the center using my paper piercing tool.

I really love the classic Christmas colors in this designer series paper and the fact that you get four sheets of three different designs (double sided) means it's easier to make multiples of projects.  I know we may just be ending summer but its never too early to start thinking and planning those holiday projects!
