Good morning!
It's another hot and humid week but one of the great things about this time of year is all the flowers (even though I have to fight like crazy to keep them alive). This week the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog has another color challenge and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for coloring using the new Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and my Stampin' Blends. The more I use the Blends the more I love them and the relaxation I get just by sitting and coloring (in fact I'm hoping to have time to stamp some images and pack my Blends for our upcoming getaway. Three hours on the plane means I have quite a bit of time to kill.
For this card I started with Petal Pink cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock which was a mat for the Crumb Cake cardfront which was embossed with the Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder and then sponged with Crumb Cake in to really help the design pop. Now for the fun part, coloring...I stamped the large magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia set on Whisper White cardstock and used my Stampin' Blends to color it in before cutting it out (honestly I fussy cut the flower with my Paper Snips but only because I forgot it came with a coordinating die set, haha!)
The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Mint Macaron on Whisper White cardstock before being cut out with the Stitched Shapes dies and sponged with Petal Pink ink before attaching with dimensionals. The final touch was the bow that uses the Gold 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon that I colored with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Marker.
I have to admit, I love everything about this card, it's so soft and pretty, I just want to touch the each of the elements. Don't forget to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create using this sketch, have fun!
