Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC321: Hey Love

Good morning!  I have the honor of starting the new year by joining an amazing group of creative designers as part of the Paper Craft Crew Design Team and can't for all the fun we have in store this year.  As you know I love challenges as a great way to stretch your creativity and learn so much so I'm excited for this new opportunity and to share with you.  Today the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge is perfect to show off a fun new Valentine's stamp in the Occasions catalog, Hey Love.

I started with Smoky Slate cardstock for the cardbase and then added a card front that was Basic Black cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and Sparkle Embossing Folder.  Next I took one of the Colored Doilies and flipped it over (the backside is white) and sponged it with Real Red ink and let it dry.

For the stamped image I used the Hey Love set and stamped using Momento ink on Whisper White cardstock and used by Smoky Slate, Real Red, and Light Basic Black Blends to color this cute gorilla in before cutting him out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Before attaching this piece to the cardfront I added some Gold Metallic Thread behind it for several loops of blingy fun.

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting in Basic Black ink on Smoky Slake cardstock and then cut it out with the Classic Label Punch and attached it with mini dimensionals.

How fun is this little guy?  I know several people who this card would be perfect for and this stamp set as lots of cute images for those you want to take a more fun approach to your project, not all full of hearts and flowers.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create using this sketch as inspiration.
