Fab Friday Sketch Challenge 145: Timeless Tidings

Good morning!  Sadly our holiday has come to an end and while we've said goodbye to summer we still have the crazy heat so I decided to help cool things down with a Christmas card which not only has a couple more sneak peaks from the 2018 Holiday (officially released tomorrow) as well as sharing the new Dashing Along Designer Series Paper that's only available this month for qualifying orders (for FREE!).  I decided to use the Fab Friday sketch challenge to pull all these things together.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper as the cardfront (this is a nice monochromatic pattern that adds a little bit of elegance).  Next I took a piece of Garden Green cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder (my featured Product of the week) and then used a sponge dauber to add Garden Green ink to add emphasis to the embossing and add more dimension.

For the main stamped image I used the new Timeless Tidings stamp set (this stamp set coordinates with a beautiful card kit but has some beautiful fonts and messages that can be used on their own).  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color in the greeting and then stamped on Whisper White cardstock before cutting it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I added a small tag using Crumb Cake cardstock to help anchor the greeting and then added a bow tied out of Garden Green and White Baker's Twine (also coming in the Holiday catalog).

I wanted to add a little pop to the card so I used the poinsettia image from the stamp set and stamped it using Momento Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock and then colored in in with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends.  I used Paper Snips to cut out the flower and then attached it to the card with dimensionals (stacked two for a little extra height) and then lightly curled up the edges.  The center of the poinsettia needed something extra so I took some of the new Bright Copper Shimmer Paint (yes shimmer paint is back, whoo hoo!) and added a little bit in the center using my paper piercing tool.

I really love the classic Christmas colors in this designer series paper and the fact that you get four sheets of three different designs (double sided) means it's easier to make multiples of projects.  I know we may just be ending summer but its never too early to start thinking and planning those holiday projects!
