Good
morning! The holidays are all wrapped up
and 2017 is off to a running start. I’ll
admit I’m hoping for lots of big snow this year (despite what Aidan’s wishing
for) and looking forward to some winter fun.
One thing that everyone celebrates, and goes on all year long is
birthdays so the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration decided to focus on
birthday’s for this month’s blog hop.
This is also perfect timing for me since the first half of the year is
very heavy for birthday’s in my world, starting with Aidan’s next month so I
decided to go with a fun birthday card that works equally well for guys and
gals. This year’s Occasions catalog is
jam packed with products perfect for all your birthday needs.
As you hop along, please be sure to comment
and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers!

I
started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of
Watermelon Wonder cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront. On the cardfront I started by using the Tie Died stamp set and stamped the background
in Mint Macaron (I stamped twice to fill the cardfront). The greeting is from the Birthday Blast stamp set and was stamped in Night of Navy ink. Next I used the coordinating Star Blast Edgelits (you can get both
the stamp set and edgelits as a bundle for a discount) to cut the awesome stars
out of Silver Foil Paper. I attached the edge cutout to the cardfront
just along the bottom so I could slightly bend the stars so they really pop off
the card.
Next
I took a piece of Carried Away Designer
Series Paper (one of the 2017 Sale-a-bration freebies, yeah) along the
bottom of the cardfront. I tied a bow
using some Peekaboo Peach 3/8” Ruched
Ribbon and attached it to the cardfront in the center of the edgelit with a
glue dot. The final touch was to add a
Night of Navy Star Enamel shape (from the Regals
Enamel Shapes) in the center of the largest star cutout for an extra little
detail.
This
card is actually really easy to make but all the different textures and
elements really elevates the card and makes a “wowser card”, love that!
