30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 6, Triple Duty

Good morning!  It’s Friday and we’re looking forward to a fun-filled weekend.  The guys are going to enjoy Cub Scout camping and I have my last race of the season and I’m looking forward to running with a friend (we ran the inaugural race together last year and had a great time!)  I’m also looking forward to some crafting time as I get started on Thanksgiving and Christmas classes and projects.  For today’s gratitude card I’m playing triple duty and using this card for my gratitude card, the Paper Player’s weekly, sketch, and anything goes over the SSINKspiration blog (so great when you can use one thing for multiple uses and this card is lots of fun.  I used the Sheltering Tree stamp set which really is a lot of fun since it’s a builder card so there are lots of different stamps you can use to build the scene you want.  I decided for another fall themed card since the trees, and leaves are so beautiful here right now!

I started with Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Soft Suede cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and new Woodland Embossing Folder (I sponged all over the embossing with Soft Suede Ink) and then matted it with Early Espresso cardstock.  Next I took a piece of Into the Woods Designer Series Paper and matted it with Tangelo Twist cardstock along the bottom.

For the main stamped image I started by cutting out a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and Deco Label Framelits (usually we stamp and then cut but this time I reversed it so I could get the scene perfect in the shape.  Then I used the Shelter Tree stamp set and stamped the bare tree, different colored leaves, grasses, and rake all using different stamps in the set. The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and I cut a simple flag tail on one end and attached with dimensionals.  For a final touch I added a knot I tied in some retired Tangelo Twist Ribbon (I don’t like combining Very Vanilla and Whisper White so I raided my stash!)

This card is so fun and pretty, I want to jump in and sit under that tree and enjoy a good book and the beautiful weather, it’s so welcoming.  I know the builder stamps can sometimes take a little more time because you have a lot of stamping but I love how you can completely customize it to your wishes.
