Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC381: Pedal to the Metal

Good morning!

While I know it's very easy to gravitate towards the flowery, feminine type cards we can't forget all the special guys in our lives (and since I'm in a house full of dudes that's especially true!)  The Pedal to the Metal stamp set (sadly retiring) is so fun and perfect for guy greetings so I decided to use it for this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge.

I started with Poppy Parade cardstock and then added the Crumb Cake cardfront with Basic Black cardstock.  On the cardfront I stamped on the background using the Artisan Textures stamp set (also retiring) using Crumb Cake ink.  I added a piece of Brights Designer Series Paper (in Poppy Parade of course) behind the stamped greeting to add that pop of color).

I stamped the buggy image in Momento Ink on Whisper White cardstock and then colored it in with Stampin' Blends, before cutting it out with the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I matted the die cut with a larger oval cut from the Layering Ovals Dies using Basic Gray cardstock before attaching it with dimensionals to the cardfront.

To finish off the card I added the greeting which was heat embossed in Whisper White on Basic Black cardstock and then added some Silver Metallic Pearls as the final touch.

Doesn't this card just make you want to go play in the mud and have a little fun?  I know we're all looking forward to getting back to a little adventure so this will have to do until we're all able to get out there again.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #338: Do the Impossible

Good morning!

As some of you know, one of the things I love to do (and is especially helping keep me sane right now) is exercise and especially running so when I saw the Do the Impossible stamp set I knew I had to have it!  Swimming, running, and cycling images are just what I need, along with some great messages.  I also thought that this set would be perfect for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

I started with Granny Apple Green cardstock for the cardbase and then used Night of Navy cardstock as the mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  To create the cardfront I started by stamping different images from the Artisan Textures stamp set using Lovely Lipstick and Night of Navy ink, then embossed it with the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder, and finished by sponging all over it with Crumb Cake ink.

For the stamped image I stamped the runners in Momento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock before coloring it in with my Stampin' Blends and then cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Dies (and sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake cardstock).  This piece was attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.  A couple final details to finish off the card were some rhinestones place on the cardfront, a piece of Denim 3/8" Ribbon, and the greeting which was stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock and punched out with the Classic Label Punch and attached with dimensionals.

Right now we all need a little support and inspiration and this stamp set is perfect for that (I love it!!)  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing using this sketch challenge and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #337: No Stamps Needed!

Good morning!

I love birthday's, any excuse to celebrate (and have a little cake) so when I saw this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge, the bright colors and festive theme I knew it would be a lot of fun!

For this card I used Pool Party cardstock for the cardbase and then used Basic Black cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront (I sponged around the edge of the card front with Purple Posy ink).

I loved all the balloons on today's inspiration pictures so I decided to highlight that, using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and Best Dressed 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper to punch out balloons of different sizes.  I used some pieces of Whisper White Baker's Twine as ties for the balloons (tying it around the bottom of the balloon and then added a bow to the bottom to tie them all together).

For the greeting I used a piece of Gold Foil sheet and cut out the "wish" using the Broadway Lights Dies for a little bling while not being "too much."

This card isn't what I planned when I first started it but really like how it turned out (and so easy peasy, this DSP is fabulous!)  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing as inspiration and we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
