SSINKspiration Create a Card Swap: Rooted in Nature

Happy Friday!  With the arrival of a new catalog it's always fun to get in the swap action, it's fun to play with new products and get samples to share with products and ideas that you may not have.  This month the SSINKspiration team decided to do a unique type of sway, a create a card swap.  For this swap we sent supplies to a fellow design team member and then you take a picture of the elements you receive and then create a card and today we're sharing what we cam up with these supplies.

I decided to stick with using my product of the week, the Rooted in Nature bundle to create this card since I didn't get any stamped images.

I started with Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then added Basic Black cardstock for the cardfront that uses DSP from the Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series Paper.  I used the other coordinating strip of DSP and matted it with Rich Razzleberry cardstock along the bottom of the cardfront.  I used the Pearlized Doily and lightly colored it with Rich Razzleberry ink and then used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut the circle out of the Basic Black cardstock that Pamela had embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder.

I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set for the tree, which I stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Mint Macaron cardstock and then cut it out with the Nature's Roots Framelits and attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The greeting was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Bermuda Bay ink and then I used my Paper Snips to cut out each part of the greeting and attached them to the cardfront with Mini Dimensionals.  There were still 2 pieces in my swap kit so I tied a bow using the Nature's Twine (the Mini Macaron piece) and attached it to one of the Leaves Trinkets using a glue dot and then used a glue dot to attach the trinket to the cardfront.

These are the supplies Pamela Wu sent to me.

I love the fun, bright colors in this designer series paper and it really helps provide a fresh touch to this card using outdoorsy images.  Remember anyone who places an order through this Sunday that includes the Rooted in Nature bundle (either wood or clear mount) will receive a package of the Leaves Trinkets from me for FREE!  Just make sure to use Hostess Code:  W4TZWC4X.

SSINKspiration Fun with Punches: Rooted with Nature

Good morning!  What a crazy weekend, between all our activities and the crazy weather it was definitely eventful but we were happy to relax a little on Sunday before the week started.  Today the SSINKspiration is having fun with punches and sharing lots of different ideas using our punches.  There are some amazingly talented people who can create punch art, I unfortunately do not have that talent.  It doesn't mean that I don't love our punches though.  One of the great things I like to do with it is embed it into cardstock for a fabulous background so that's what I'm sharing today.

I started with Soft Suede cardstock for the cardbase and then used Night of Navy cardstock as a mat for the cardfront.  To make the cardfront I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and attached circles cut out of Olive Olive, Soft Suede, and Mossy Meadow using the 1/2", 3/4", and 1" Circle Punches (I just used SNAIL adhesive to attach the circles).  Once I was done I ran the cardfront through the Big Shot using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing folder and just like that the punched circles are embedded into the cardstock and it has a great texture.  To help highlight the texture I used some Crumb Cake ink and Stampin' Sponge to lightly color the cardstock and highlight the embossing.

To finish off the card I used the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut a circle out of Night of Navy cardstock as the backdrop for my tree.  The tree is from the new Rooted with Nature stamp set and I used Stampin' Write Markers to color directly on the stamp before stamping on Crumb Cake cardstock.  I used the coordinating Nature's Roots Framelits to cut out the tree and attached it to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Crumb Cake and then was cut out with the Big Shot and Layering Squares FramelitsMini dimensionals were used to attach the greeting to the cardfront.

The circles create the perfect background for this card and helps pull out all the different colors used.  Remember, the Rooted in Nature bundle is also the product of the week that I'll be highlighting on my Facebook page this week, check it out, https://www.facebook.com/StampinFunWithDiana/.

SSINKspiration Weddings: Special Celebrations

Good morning!  This morning the SSINKspiration designers are sharing wedding card ideas and the new annual catalog has lots of great products to help celebrate these special occasions.

I started with Blushing Bride cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the cardfront that was embossed with the Big Shot and Tufted Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder (this folder is amazing!).  Then I added Pearl Jewels to the intersections of the diamonds to really help dress up the background.

Next I took a piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon and wrapped it around the cardfront and attached a simple bow using the same ribbon.  The greeting is from the Special Celebrations stamp set and was stamped on Blushing Bride cardstock before being cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Labels Framelits. I lightly sponged around the edges with Basic Black ink before attaching the piece to the cardfront with dimensionals to finish it off.

I've always liked the contracts of black and metallic and this card is so soft and elegant, perfect to celebrate the start of a couples new life together.  We're still in the high wedding season so this would be perfect if you have a wedding coming up, a hand made card will definitely make the couple feel special!

Hand Stamped Sentiment Sketch Challenge #292: Broadway Birthday

Good morning!  When I first saw the new annual catalog there were so many new stamp sets I loved but I knew the one that would be on my very first order was the Broadway Birthday stamp set and all the other items in the Broadway Bound Product Suite are just awesome!  Today I decided to use the products in this product suite for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge (and it looks like several other of the designers were thinking the same thing and sharing some love for these items).

I started with Gray Granite cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock that I embossed with the Big Shot and Scattered Sequins Dynamic Embossing Folder.  I added a piece of Lovely Lipstick (one of the new 2018-2020 In Colors as well as a piece of Broadway Bound Speciality Designer Series Paper (love that every piece of paper in this pack has some design that has metallic accents!)

Next I used a 1 1/4" Circle Punch to punch out four circles from Basic Black cardstock.  The party hat is a pattern from the designer series paper package and one of the dies in the coordinating Broadway Lights Framelits for a perfectly colored and cut element.  I did add a little Gold Metallic Pearl from the Metallic Pearls for a fun accent and attached the party hat with a dimensional.

For the greeting I stamped the "hooray" in Gray Granite ink and then used Basic Black ink for the dots on Whisper White cardstock (by this stamp being photopolymer it's super easy to line these up) and then used my Paper Snips to cut at the greeting and attached it to the cardfront. Then I stamped the rest of the greeting in Basic Black ink on Lovely Lipstick cardstock and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and used dimensionals to pop it up.

This is such a fun and elegant card, perfect for the young or young at heart and don't you feel a card is extra special when it has a little metallic or sparkle accent?  I know I do which is why I love it so.  Make sure to check out the other cards the design team is sharing for inspiration and then we would love for you to play along with us and share what you create.
