SSINKspiration Celebrations: Great Big Greetings

Good morning!  Spring has lots of occasions to celebrate and one of the most popular is weddings, in fact while we were touring James Monroe's Highland estate yesterday where was actually a rehearsal for a wedding that was happening this weekend (apparently they host regular weddings onsite).  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing cards for celebrations and since my card is for a wedding it perfectly fits what we saw yesterday.

I started with Berry Burst cardstock for the cardbase and then used a piece of Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper, with lots of silver foil trimmed cake pieces, that has so much detail and color.

For the greeting I used the Great Big Greetings stamp set and stamped it in Berry Burst ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelts.  To mat the greeting I used a Delicate White Doily and used a sponge to color it with So Saffron ink.  The final touch was to tie a bow using Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon and I colored it with the Old Olive Light Stampin' Blend Marker.

Weddings to me have to have sparkle and shine so I had to have some special bling on this card so this speciality paper and metallic trimmed ribbon is perfect to help celebrate the big day!

Remember Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow so if you're looking to purchase the products used in today's card, or any others, remember they all qualify towards your Sale-a-bration rewards, so don't miss out!!

Springtime Foils Sale-a-bration Fun: Confetti Celebration

Good afternoon!  We're in the final countdown for Sale-a-bration, only 3 days left to get in on the savings (don't miss this!!)  I wanted to share a really cute and easy project that uses one of the Sale-a-bration freebies, Springtime Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper, which I love!!

We all need birthday gifts so I used our new Silver Mini Gable Box to create this perfect gift package.  I took a strip of the Springtime Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper and colored in the flowers using the Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends.  I used the same blends (the light marker to color the Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon to finish off the top of the box.

For the greeting I used the Confetti Celebration stamp set and stamped the greeting on Calyso Coral cardstock using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using the Heat Tool and Gold Emboss Powder.  I used the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits to cut out the greeting and then attached it to the box with dimensionals.

Isn't this just perfect?  I love the bright cheery colors and accents of silver and gold.  Another cool things about these boxes, is if you're traveling to a party and are short on space you can completely decorate the box and then collapse for easy traveling and then pop it up and fill it up once you arrive and it'll be perfectly safe (awesome!!)

Don't forget to place your order to earn your SAB freebies before they are gone!!

SSINKspiration Easter: You're Inspiring

Good morning!  It's spring break this week and the week before Easter so I've working on wrapping up some cards and gifts to get them in the mail in time to be received for Easter.  Today the SSINKspiration designers are sharing cards created to send Easter greetings.  As soon as I saw the You're Inspiring stamp set in this years Occasions catalog I knew I would be using it for Easter along with the new Stampin' Blends.  I've been busy traveling recently and transporting Aidan to all his activities so it was perfect to stamp all the images and then I could color them on the go.

For this card I started with Daffodil Delight cardstock and used the spotted image to stamp all over the left side using Daffodil ink before adding a piece of Old Olive Designer Series Paper from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper along the right side of the cardfront.  Next I took another pattern from the same DSP stack using Daffodil Delight as the rectangle behind the stamped image.

For the stamped image I stamped the large tulip image using Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and then colored it using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive Stampin' Blends (I did also use the Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend for the center of the flowers and added a little Crumb Cake Blends to the bottom of the flower stems to "dirty" they up).  Once the coloring was complete I used the Big Shot and Layering Ovals Framelits to cut out the image.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Basic Black ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits before attaching both oval pieces to the cardfront with dimensionals.  The final touch was to die a double bow using Basic Black Baker's Twine.

These daffodils remind me of the flowers that have just started blooming in my yard and are a sure sign that despite everything we're experiencing spring really will be here soon.  There is still time to finish up your Easter projects so make sure to check out the other design team projects for added inspiration.

SSINKspiration Springtime Fun: Amazing You

Good morning!  Despite winter coming for a final performance this week on the second day of spring there are signs that spring really is just around the corning.  Today the SSINKspiration designers are using these signs of spring as inspiration for today's cards.  I decided to use a little color therepy with the Stampin' Blends and the Springtime Foil Speciality Designer Series Paper (a SAB Freebie) to make this beautiful card that screams springtime flowers.

I started with Olive Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then used my Pool Party, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the Springtime Foil Speciality DSP (this paper is great for using with the Blends since it's got a coating so the ink really stays wet longer to allow you to move it really easy to get the look your going for.  I really took my time and enjoyed color the background (it did take some time but I was able to watch a show and just relax).

Next I took a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock and used the Amazing You stamp set (a SAB Freebie) to stamp the "Let's" and the starburst image using Calypso Coral ink at different strengths.  Next I used the Big Shot and Celebrate You Thinlits (a SAB Freebie that will be carrying over to next years Annual Catalog) to cut the words out of Copper Foil Paper.  The final touch, a double bow tied with Pool Party Solid Baker's Twine.

I didn't add a lot to this card to really let the background be the star and love how it turned out.  I've colored several other pieces of this specialty DSP and will be sharing those projects soon so make sure you add this paper to your qualifying order before the end of the month and see the important note below regarding the Stampin' Blends.

The Stampin’ Blends Markers have been so incredibly popular that inventory has run out on many colors, and many more are close to being depleted. Because of the long lead time to have the markers made, Stampin’ Up! will be placing the Stampin’ Blends on ‘non-orderable’ status today Friday, March 23rd at 12noon(mountain).
So what does that mean for you? Well, if any of the Stampin’ Blends are on your shopping list, I urge you to order them before Friday at 12noon. Why should you order them if you likely won’t receive them for quite some time? Because if you order them now, not only can you take advantage of Sale-a-bration and earn free items with your purchase, but you’ll also have secured your order in the queue to have your Stampin’ Blends sent out as soon they are available again.
